Boracay Aqua Sports Activities

Boracay is known for its watersports activities. Enjoy in a variety of exhilirating water sport activities from swimming, snorkeling to scuba diving, windsurfing, sailboating, kayaking, banana boat riding, jetskiing, parasailing, kiteboarding, water skiing, flying fish riding and boating. There are hobie cats, kayaks, snorkeling equipment and paddle boats for rent all throughout the island.

1. Boracay Boardsailing Activity - Opposite White beach on the other side of the island is Bulabog beach known for board surfing and kitesurfing. Bulabog beach is a boardsailor's mecca that draws enthusiasts from all over the world during peak season from November to March with onshore winds varying between 18-30 knots.

2. Boracay Boating Activity - A boat trip around the island for sightseeing and hopping can be via a Paraw or a wind powered boat via a gas powered pump boat. Its more fun with stopovers at different beaches. Wind condition sometimes makes boating on one or the other side of the island unsafe, but either coast of Boracay has enough beaches and snorkelling areas.

3. Snorkeling Boracay Activity - Provides snorkels and fins once you rented thier boat for island hopping or snorkelling. Snorkels and fins are also available at most hotels, dive shops and at some beaches where either beach operators or restaurants are located.

4. Skimboarding Boracay Activity - The shallow water of White Beach Boracay is the best beach to practice skimboarding activities. You can rent skimboards at several places along White Beach on an hourly basis or for the whole day.

5. Windsurfing and Kitesurfing Boracay Activities - The best beach for windsurfing and kitesurfing is Bulabog beach where equipment rentals, winsurfing and kitesurfing lessons are available. Wind and wave conditions are best between December and February during the northern monsoon.

6. Banana Boating Activity - The popular banana boat ride costs about Php200 each for a minimum of four people.

7. Glass Bottom Boats Activity - There are two glass bottom boats allowing you to see Boracay's underwater world. The smaller boat can accomodate 6 to 8 persons and the trip takes around 1 hour. The bigger boat, takes up to 30 persons out for one and a half hours.

8. Boracay Parasailing Activity - The best time for Parasailing is in the high season during the northeast monsoon where the sea off White Beach is calm at that time.

Golf and other Boracay Recreational Activities
Boracay is the site of a world-class 18-hole par 72 golf course designed by Graham Marsh. You can play golf at the Fairways and Bluewater Resort Golf and Country Club. Other activities around the island are tennis, bowling, beach volleyball and even badminton

Nature and Adventure Activities
Boracay is an adventure island ideal for island hopping, hiking, trekking, caving, mountain climbing, biking, and horseback riding. Enjoy a scenic trip to the Bat Cave, Crystal Cove and Buslugan Cave.

Boracay Diving Activities
Dive sites surround the island and are learning venues to both beginners and professional divers, guided by skilled instructors of the many dive shops that operate in the area. For scuba diving enthusiasts, Yapak in Boracay is a great deep dive.

Beach Relaxation
The island is ideal for beach bumming, relaxing, and simply lazing around. At the end of the day, unwind with a relaxing massage. The island never runs out skilled masseurs offering massage services by the beach. Boracay Shopping
Boracay boasts many shopping centers that offers a wide array of products from clothes to home decors to souveniers. There are endless selections of souvenir pieces available, from trinkets to native accessories made of shells and semi precious stones to exotic or contemporary beach wear and fashion artworks.

Here are the most recommended places to shop at in Boracay.

1. Boracay Tourist Center - The Boracay Tourist Center features several souvenir shops that offer affordable items. Its also has a mini mart where travelers can buy their basic commodities. Other services offered are: postal services, money transfer and a photo shop. Situated at Manggayad, the place is accessible to any form of land transportation.

2. Boracay Talipapa Market – Talipapa is the biggest market in Boracay, this shoping venue provides the best opportunity for haggling. Talipapa literal means “small market.”. Boracay Talipapa Market is also known for its collection of the best lamps, bags, clothes, and accessories. There is also a tattoo shop which is a favorite hang out of people who would like their bodies to be tattoed.

3. D’Mall D Boracay - Located at Station 2, D’Mall D Boracay most popular mall in the island , it is situated in the center of White Beach. D Mall features numerous boutiques and restaurants. Consumers can also dine at restaurants like Lemon Café, Cyma and Aria situated in D’Mall. There are also retail stores at the mall that offer native products. There are several automated teller machines available at the place. Aside from these, there are moneychangers at D’Mall.

4. Beach Vendors - Travelers who are in search for affordable merchandises can visit the vendors at the beaches of Boracay. At the White Beach, you can find numerous vendors selling almost everything that you need from grilled dishes, shawarmas to shades, bracelets, necklaces and earrings. Beach vendors at the island also offer handicrafts and woven merchandises. The prices of items at beach vendors range from Php 10 to Php 200. Hagling is a must when buying from beach vendors, most of their items are overpriced.
